Today, we are behind the wheel of the new Škoda Enyaq Coupé RS for a review. Among the rolling Tuscan hills, iconic cypress trees, and timeless villages, this jewel of electric mobility is ready to showcase its sporty and elegant character. What better setting to test a car that promises to combine performance and comfort with unmistakable style?
The exterior design of the Škoda Enyaq Coupé RS stands out with sharp, aggressive lines that immediately convey a dynamic and sporty personality. The rear section features a sloping roofline that ends with a small spoiler, adding an extra touch of boldness. The Mamba Green color catches the eye wherever you go. The front end is equally distinctive, featuring matrix headlights and an illuminated grille with an impressive 130 LEDs.
The interior reflects Škoda’s attention to detail, with carefully assembled soft-touch materials that elevate the perception of quality. The sports seats, exclusive to the RS version, are supportive and well-designed, featuring contrast stitching that matches the exterior color.
The digital instrument cluster is optimally sized, providing all essential driving information at a glance. The infotainment system, positioned at the center of the dashboard, boasts a generously sized touchscreen. The operating system is fluid and responsive, offering full wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. A particularly useful feature is the ability to preheat the battery when approaching an HPC charging station.
Rear passengers also enjoy a comfortable travel experience. The large panoramic glass roof ensures a bright and welcoming cabin, though unfortunately, it lacks a sunshade. The rear climate vents and USB charging ports further enhance passenger comfort. Behind the wheel, paddle shifters allow the driver to adjust regenerative braking intensity. There are multiple modes: a lighter setting for relaxed driving, a stronger setting for maximum energy recovery, and an automatic mode that adapts to traffic conditions.
However, the one-pedal driving function, available on many EVs, is missing on all vehicles built on this platform—a minor compromise that does not undermine the system’s overall effectiveness. Škoda continues to integrate practical solutions throughout the cabin. The built-in umbrellas in the front doors and the ice scraper neatly stored in the trunk are small but incredibly useful touches.
At the heart of the Škoda Enyaq Coupé RS is a dual-motor powertrain, with one motor on the front axle and the other on the rear axle. This setup delivers a combined 300 horsepower and 460 Nm of torque, ensuring thrilling performance in all conditions. The all-wheel drive system distributes torque between the two axles instantly and precisely, resulting in a stable and responsive driving experience, even in challenging situations.
The chassis is tuned for a sportier ride without sacrificing comfort. We tested the Enyaq Coupé RS in various conditions, from city streets to highways, mountain switchbacks, and cobblestone roads. The car absorbed road imperfections impressively while maintaining excellent handling through curves. Braking performance is another highlight, providing strong yet easily modulated stopping power. The transition between regenerative and mechanical braking is practically seamless.
The Škoda Enyaq Coupé RS is equipped with an 82 kWh battery (77 kWh usable), offering a solid range. In urban driving, it can travel over 450 km (280 miles) on a single charge, while at 130 km/h (80 mph) on the highway, with temperatures between 5°C and 10°C (41°F–50°F), the range sits between 300 and 320 km (186–199 miles). In terms of charging, the Enyaq Coupé RS is equally impressive: in AC charging: Up to 11 kW, allowing a 0-100% charge in about 7 hours, in DC fast charging: Up to 170 kW, enabling a rapid recharge to get back on the road quickly. The charging curve is well-calibrated, allowing efficient power recovery without excessive wait times.
The Škoda Enyaq Coupé RS comes equipped with advanced driver assistance systems, achieving Level 2 autonomy. The adaptive cruise control and active lane-keeping system work seamlessly together, ensuring smooth and predictable responses even in complex traffic scenarios.
The Škoda Enyaq Coupé RS proves to be a car that successfully blends style, comfort, and performance, all while maintaining the practicality and attention to detail that define the brand. The Enyaq lineup starts at around €45,000, while the RS version surpasses €60,000. This is certainly a significant investment, but it is well-justified by the cutting-edge technology, build quality, and excellent performance this vehicle offers.
