On this beautiful sunny day we are in the brand new Ford Mustang Mach-e<\/strong> for a review<\/strong>. Mustang Mach-E the first full electric of the American brand. In particular, we are on board the AWD Extended Range version equipped with all-wheel drive and larger battery. We decided to take this car among the beautiful views of the Val D’Orcia, one of the most beautiful areas of Tuscany and probably of the whole Italy. <\/p>\n

In full Mustang style we are dealing with a very generously sized car. However, the Mustang Mach-e is a crossover, the furthest away from the classic coup\u00e9 imprinted in the collective imagination under the heading of “Mustang”. The muscular lines are very reminiscent of those of the American pony car, especially looking at the long front hood and the rear lights which with their shapes are strongly inspired by the endothermic counterpart. <\/p>\n

The streamlined and sloping lines, the Star White color with the contrasting black roof help to mask the large dimensions of this crossover. The car is in fact 4.71 meters long and 1.88 wide. However, dimensions are well exploited as the wheelbase is 3 meters and the space for the occupants is really a lot. The handles on the front doors are certainly unusual, they almost look like aerodynamic appendages. The opening takes place via a button located above them, and on the left front pillar there is also a numeric keypad to unlock the car via PIN. <\/p>\n

Once aboard the Mustang Mach-E, you immediately notice a cabin of excellent quality and very solid assemblies. The materials used are very different and create contrasts that help to significantly increase the perceived quality. The black interior, with red visible stitching, combined with the dashboard with fabric and carbon-like upholstery are certainly impressive. The seats, with electric adjustments, are valid allies during long journeys as they are very comfortable and sufficiently good at keep your body steady. <\/p>\n

The nit is on the central tunnel, and is the gear selector. The command is a bit unintuitive and does not offer the same quality as the rest of the passenger compartment. On the other hand, the panoramic roof that slides along the entire passenger compartment and the soft lighting with the possibility of changing color are beautiful. <\/p>\n

At the center of the dashboard there is also the 15.5-inch screen oriented in portrait that allows you to use the new Ford infotainment system called SYNC 4. The functions are many and in step with the times: CarPlay and Android Auto wireless, OTA updates, camera 360 and automatic parking. On the other hand, the functions for planning recharging stops during trips outside the range and the details of consumption are particularly useful. The volume adjustment dial located above the main screen is very particular. Behind the steering wheel there is a second screen of much smaller size, useful for displaying the main gear information such as speed, percentage of charge and remaining range. The audio system is entrusted to Bang & Olufsen and consists of 10 speakers, the result is excellent as it results in a very deep and immersive sound. <\/p>\n

Thanks to the sloping tailgate, the rear trunk is not huge, the declared liters are in fact 402. However, the shape is very regular and there are the right hooks to anchor the load. Thanks to the platform dedicated to the electric, it was also possible to obtain a small front compartment of 100 liters. <\/p>\n

Mustang Mach-e was built on the GE1 platform, a heavily modified version of the well-known C2 used for the Ford Focus. This made it possible to host a huge battery pack, liquid-cooled, of 98.7kwh gross (net about 88) on the Extended Range versions. This translates into a very interesting autonomy; in fact, during our tests we managed to travel from a minimum of 320km on the motorway up to a maximum of just under 500km in the city. Charging takes place in three-phase alternating current at 11kw and in direct current up to 150kw. In about 8 hours, therefore, it will be possible to fill up the classic “slow” columns, while during journeys in just over 40 minutes you can go from 10% to 80% of battery. Finally, the battery pack is guaranteed for 8 years or 160,000km. The Mustang Mach-E’s all-wheel drive is achieved with the aid of two engines placed on the corresponding axles.<\/p>\n

\"Ford<\/p>\n

The overall power is a lot, the two engines generate 361 horsepower and 580nm of torque, this allows the Mustang Mach-e to do 0-100 in just 5.1 seconds and to be truly responsive. The set-up, for an SUV, is quite rigid and almost immediately provides good confidence and mastery of the vehicle. Despite its considerable weight, thanks to the battery that lowers the center of gravity of the car and the management of the torque shifted to the rear, the Mustang Mach-E proves to be fun, responsive and with a contained roll and pitch. There are 3 driving modes, from the quietest to the sportiest we find Active, Whisper and Untamed. Unfortunately, there is no active trim adjustment, so the changes between the driving modes are limited to the response of the steering, the right pedal and, to a lesser extent, also the controls. <\/p>\n

\"Ford\"Ford\"Ford<\/p>\n

Note on the presence of the driving mode with a pedal. Ford Mustang Mach-E starts at 62,500 euros in the version with rear-wheel drive only and with standard battery, up to around 85,000 euros in the GT version available only with increased battery. Our version, AWD Extended Range, net of any regional incentives starts from around 75,000 euros to which the color Star White (1300 \u20ac) and the Tech Pack (1900 \u20ac) have been added. In conclusion, the Ford Mustang Mach-E turns out to be a fun, spacious car that adapts to different driving needs: from daily home-work commuting, to fun in the curves of Tuscany as we did today.<\/p>\n
